We believe in telling diverse stories, ones that celebrate our shared achievements and confront the scars left behind in the name of progress.

History is most powerful when you’re standing in the place where it happened. That’s what makes historical markers so meaningful. They connect us, physically and emotionally, to the past.

That’s why it’s vital we protect them.

The current administration, through the Department of the Interior, is requiring the National Park Service to post signage at all sites asking visitors to offer feedback on any information that they feel portrays American history and landscapes in a negative light. via NPR

We’re on a mission to preserve these signs before they disappear. If you have a photo of a National Park sign consider submitting it through our contributions page.

We’ll archive these markers and add them to our public map so even if they’re taken down, their stories live on for future generations to read and reflect on.
